2021 Kasnyik Blaufränkisch

One of our favorite Blaufränkisch we've had the pleasure to taste. The winemaking is straight-forward. 14 days on the skins, 16 months on the lees in barrel, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Perhaps it’s the super high lime content of the Góre vineyard that lends some high toned acidity. Perhaps the long élevage in their cold cellar. Whatever it is, it feels like they soaked a cheesecloth filled with potpourri along with baking spices and dark ripe fruit. It’s relatively light at 12.5%, but it’s persistent and delicious.
