2021 Le Briseau 'Le verre des Poetes' Pineau d'Aunis
New wines from both Nathalie Gaubicher and her husband Êmile Heredia, who now works beside her at Le Briseau. Old-timers will remember Le Briseau as the iconic domaine of the late Christian Chaussard, a pioneer of French natural winemaking who passed away suddenly in an accident in 2009. In the wake of Christian's death, his wife and collaborator Nathalie developed a close friendship with Émile Heredia, another legendary winemaker from the same neighborhood. They were married a few years later and Émile moved in with Nathalie at Marçon, selling his beloved vines at Montrieux. For the last couple of years, Nathalie and Émile each make their own wines at Le Briseau. Nathalie loves the electric lift of lightly macerated Pineau D'Aunis and has dedicated herself to making more cuvées in this style. T For his part, Émile now vinifies 'Le Verre des Poetes' from old vines, an old parcel of Aunis once worked by Christian.
