2021 L’Alezan (Rémi & Patricia Bonneton) 'Potion' Carignan
Potion is made exclusively from the Carignan grape (Provence). The grapes were harvested in Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt in Vaucluse, at the property of another couple of natural winemakers. The grapes were macerated whole-cluster for ten days. From there, the wine spent eight months aging in large oak casks and a tinaja (a large clay amphora from Spain). Neither sulfites nor additives were used at any stage of the winemaking process. There is a nose of black cherry that stand out, and the wine is round with silky tannins. Would go great with pork, charcuterie, and a daube de boeuf.
