2021 Etteilla Deabru (750ml)

Etteilla Wines is a small winemaking project started by Anne Disabato and Noelle Vandendriessche. The two apprenticed for Tony Coturri and produced their first vintage out of Coturri Winery in Sonoma, CA. They make zero-zero wines and ciders with a focus on heritage vineyards that are committed to organic and sustainable farming practices.

64% Carignan, 21% Petit Sirah, 14% Merlot yielding a rich brambleberry, licorice, thyme & tarragon, velvety tannins.

Carignan & Petit Sirah: Testa Vineyard in Calpella, Mendocino County. This
old-vine Carignan dates to 1912,and the Petit Sirah to the 1940s. Both are organic
and dry-farmed by the 5th generation winemakers of the Testa family on gravel loam
and clay soil.
Merlot: Feingold Vineyard in Glen Ellen, Sonoma County. The Merlot, which was
planted in the 90s, is farmed organically on about 10 acres of the north slope of
Sonoma Mountain.
The Carignan and Petit Sirah were destemmed, crushed and co-fermented for 14 days.
The Merlot was destemmed, crushed, and fermented separately. Both wines were
gently pressed in a 30 year old basket press directly to barrels with an initial
racking in April. The wines were racked, blended, and hand bottled after 12 months
of elevage.

An ode to Cali-Italiano wine, this is a Madonna Mia bottle for the Sunday dinner
of your dreams. We swam in this wine from pick bins to fermenters to press.
